Title: Internal Drivers of Customer Engagement. Logic and Consequences in the Wealth Management Industry.
Nature of thesis research: Doctor of Business Administration (DBA)
Dr. Farhad Aftabroushad is a Swiss-based scholar-practitioner, banking strategist, and adjunct faculty member with more than twenty years of international experience in private banking and wealth management. His work integrates executive practice, academic research, and doctoral mentoring, with a particular focus on ultra-high-net-worth clients and family office structures across Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.
Throughout his career, he has held senior leadership and strategic roles within leading global financial institutions, including Goldman Sachs, Credit Suisse, Standard Chartered Bank, and Barclays. His experience spans investment advisory, family office structuring, and business model development, as well as strategic transformation initiatives across key financial centres such as Zurich, Geneva, and Monaco.
His academic work focuses on the intersection of organizational culture, strategic transformation, customer engagement, and value proposition innovation in financial services. His doctoral research developed an original, practice-oriented framework identifying the internal drivers of sustainable client engagement and long-term value creation in wealth management, integrating human capital, client proposition, and technology-enabled strategy.
As adjunct faculty and doctoral mentor, he lectures in business and management and supports executive-level students throughout the doctoral journey—from research design to thesis completion. His approach emphasizes the translation of complex managerial challenges into structured, theory-informed, and practice-relevant insights.
Dr. Aftabroushad is particularly interested in advancing the role of the scholar-practitioner in modern management education, bridging rigorous academic thinking with real-world application in leadership, strategy, and transformation.
He holds a Master’s degree (lic. oec. HSG) from the University of St. Gallen and an Executive Doctorate in Business Administration from IAE Nice Graduate School of Management (Université Côte d’Azur). He has further completed executive education programs at leading international institutions, maintaining an active engagement with evolving research and practice in global finance and management.
