Founder's Story: Pioneering the Path to Academic Excellence

In the corridors of higher education, where the pursuit of knowledge meets the challenge of doctoral research, DoctorateHub grew from the support that we provided to doctoral students and culminated in today’s ecosystem that would redefine the landscape of doctoral education

DoctorateHub, provides not just resources but a holistic support system based on a demystified, transparent and well structured doctoral journey, that would assist students in succeeding and lowering the insanely high and unjustifiable attrition rates of up to 75% that doctoral programmes currently have.

Over this course of time the founders, Dr. Ana Faria and Dr. Andreas Meiszner, together with the DoctorateHub founding faculty developed a shared vision and a profound commitment on how to empower doctoral scholars and practitioners on their academic journeys.

The Conception: How it started

Dr. Andreas Meiszner, a seasoned practitioner with a background in innovation and education, was tutoring and mentoring doctoral students at a very large scale world-class Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA) programme when he noticed the existence of patterns and commonalities in the students' struggles and what would be the required next step to get them further.

A Vision Takes Shape: Geting readied up

Ana and Andreas set out to build a platform that takes doctoral students through their journey, step-by-step. Together with the foundational faculty, a clear path through the doctorate was established that was both razor-sharp focused on getting students to the next step and extremely modular and granular to provide tailored access to the resources and expertise that each student individually would require.

Going all in: Turning DoctorateHub into a degree awarding higher education institution

Once the services were readied up, we took just the logical step and started to combine them into degree awarding doctoral study programmes. With this, a Doctorate of Business Administration (DBA) was released and submitted for accreditation.

This DBA programme was then accredited by the Malta Further and Higher Education Authority (MFHEA) turning DoctorateHub into a degree awarding Higher Education Institution.

DoctorateHub is licensed by the Malta Further & Higher Education Authority with License no: 2024-002 to provide doctoral education at level 8 of the Malta Qualifications Framework (MQF) and level 8 of the European Qualifications Framework (EQF).
