Doctoral students are often quick in selecting the methods even before being able to articulate the research problem.
At the same time doctoral students appear to struggle to justify the motivations for their selection. And they often do so due to a lack of understanding of the basic principles of how research works.
What many students seem to miss is that the research methods will lend itself to you. There is close to zero creativity required on that end. Conducting research implies to build on existing studies. And existing studies inevitably will come with existing research methods, research questions, conceptual and theoretical frameworks and the like.
Therefore, all that needs to be done is to identify those studies on which your research will be building. That's it.
This webinar will assist doctoral students in identifying and defending such research methods.
The webinar will take place at 1.00pm UK time and we look forward to a lively discussion.
To maximise the learning for participants, questions may be posted to the webinar discussion board after your registration. These will be addressed during the webinar.
Following the presentation of the webinar, the host will be available to answer any research-related questions you may have in an open door session with no agenda other than your own questions.
